Stormie Parker
Raised among the dramatic landscapes and wildlife of Flagstaff, Arizona, Stormie Parker’s artistic journey began with the rigid medium of stone in her family’s jewelry business. However, discovering the ceramics department at Northern Arizona University (NAU) sparked a lifelong shift toward clay—a medium she found far more receptive to her creative vision. After a transformative seven-year tenure in Germany, establishing ceramic programs and exhibiting abroad, Stormie returned to the U.S., eventually settling in Fort Worth, Texas.
While she spent three decades mastering functional studio pottery, Stormie’s work has evolved into the realm of the sculptural. Today, she is recognized for her charismatic animal figures, each infused with a distinct personality designed to engage the viewer. At Windstorm Studio, she merges these two worlds, utilizing the wheel to craft both one-of-a-kind vessels and playful characters. From whimsical creatures to her poignant endangered species series, Stormie’s work remains a testament to her deep connection to the natural world.
